Just remember the 40 isn't backwards compatible if you wanted to play older games. You can get a 250 gig 2.5" hdd for about 100 bucks by the way...and you might need it considering how much stuff developers are making you install now .

Yes and no. Yes they are still producing them, but no, you won't be able to find them anywhere. They've been producing them with MGS4 bundled instead of Motorstorm. You won't be able to find the 80GB at most retail locations until June 12 which is the release date of MGS4. Simply put, Sony is producing, but not shipping the 80GB model because it's bundled with a game that isn't released yet. I thought that would have been obvious.

i dont want to get a whole new console for the one game no matter how good it is. whats the difference? the first 3 games you played basically to see where the plot went and what the cutscenes were. i dont want to spend all that money.

thats fine, but i think that assuming reading a strategy guide and watching youtube clips will be the same as playing through the game to get the story is dumb. youre more in touch with the story when you actually play it.

and MGS was somewhat predictable, and MGS3 was obvious because we knew what was going to happen since it took place in the past, but dont even begin to try and tell me you saw the story to MGS2 and knew where it was going. lol

because the plasma i have goes to 1080i, and its color is slightly messed up in some areas. i can tell when playing games. also, with a plasma, i dont want to have to worry about burn in when playing older 2d / sprite games.

Lol, to be honest, I think MGS is good an' all but i'm not bothered about not getting it.

There is a thread on GameFaqs where a guy is claiming to have a promo copy of the game, and apparently it's true. After 30 pages he has yet to prove it with a screenshot, but people seem to believe him. Anyway he is saying the graphics are simply incredible and he really hasn't seen anything like it ever, on PS3 or 360. Says the textures are superb especially on Snake and his camosuit. And he said the sound is just as good as well.
I hope it's awesome for all you PS3 owners.
Like Mr Myers said, MGS is great (mostly) but I'm not bothered at all for not getting this one. If I already made an investment in the PS3 a while back, it would be a different story. But shelling out that much money for one game, one that I only have interest in for the story, isn't worth it for me. Plus MGS3 wrapped up the series perfectly and I never understood the point of this addition. But it looks like it's gonna turn out to be pretty good for those interested in continuing the story after MGS2.

MGS3 was the cornerstone of the series, because it put Big Boss in a more positive, motive driven light than the original series 20 years ago- 20 years is a long time to wait for an understanding of one of the most ghost-like villians of all time. you can bet you will confront him or some form of Big Boss in MGS4 because hes been a whisper through the plotline for years.

We've finally received word that the long awaited, and much rumored, PlayStation 3 Firmware Update 2.40 is indeed the real deal and is said to be coming relatively soon. Many of the most requested features, such as a universal friends list and in-game messaging will be included, in addition to a few rather nice surprises (*cough*soundtracks*cough*). We definitely can't divulge all of the details, but trust us, it's coming.

We aren't yet 100% sure of the actual release date, but all signs point to sometime in June. We're guesing that Sony will probably detail 2.40 in the coming weeks.
