I was introduced to Rotten in 9th grade study hall. We would go to the computers in the back of the classroom (which were facing the teacher!!!!) my friend would somehow bypass the school's restrictions and we would browse rotten.com. One would stand in the way of the monitor and 3 or 4 of us would look at the gross shit and try to contain ourselves to not draw attention from the teacher. I totally understand what Austin is saying, how seeing shit like that at a young age fucks with you. Gets you thinking about things you arent really ready to think about yet... but I suppose that was always the appeal.

The one in particular that stands out to me was this dead blonde woman. She had purple/green flesh, blue clips, milky eye balls, and normal blonde hair. I remember not being able to eat for a long time after that because the image was burned into my brain. To be honest (and this is weird since I started this thread) I can't really do straight up gore shit. I like looking at stuff like the Bjork stalker, station fire, or I feel fantastic because while it's dark, there is an air of mystery behind it and some possible discussions and analysis to be had. Looking at gore stuff does nothing for me but gross me out and make me not want to eat. and i really like to eat.

I'm in complete agreement with James on that one. In my work I frequently have to look at picture of bodies mangled in car accidents, people who've died from accidents at work etc etc... I just don't see the appeal of actually seeking out that stuff.

One of the most disturbing things I watched recently was Fred and Rose West: The West Murders - I remember this in the news when I was younger and it's pretty famous but this documentary just got to me. It's a three parter - a good watch.
