Whoever books bands for that festival obviously has no idea what they're doing if they book someone like Andrew W.K. and the crowd reacts that way. I imagine the situation involving the promoter asking them to play and cky saying, "fuck it. sure." I don't understand why they wouldn't just have ICP play for 6 hours...

who knows maybe the crowd will like them, get into it and have a good time.....

Then the board floods with juggalos, and we'll all blame you because you don't think this is a big deal.

Maybe the next album, Derron can sing about a broken down Faygo truck getting raided in Hellview.

lol you kids.
Whining about how cKy can't get a break, but being completely unwelcoming to new fans or even potential ones.
Who gives a shit what their background or other tastes might be?

so their fans voted them in to play this? that's cool for them i guess. a new market for the band isn't always a bad thing. especially in these times. besides, you won't hear them complaining about the band playing the same set-list as usual. so that's good for them too.

i just think it's funny how the band has been ragging on this band and their fanbase even more so for years and is now possibly in this situation. guess the industry can be a bitch sometimes, hey? street-cred doesn't pay the bills, so all power to em.

also, has this even been confirmed anywhere else except for some cheesy infomercial?

I lol'd.

New exposure is good. Exposure at all costs? Meh, we'll see. I'd rather see Chad on Dancing With The Stars. New fans would be nice for the band, even if it doubles their current number of annoying, stigmatized fans.

If anything, this is a lame gig because I imagine a lot of the Alliance wouldn't attend even if they were in the area. I'd go nuts having to be around that shit just to hear cKy. I don't know how the band will survive.

I tried checking out the website for this Juggalofuckfest, and the only bands I saw listed were all in clown make-up... except for a random trio of black dudes wearing Detroit Tigers hats. Which, I don't even want to know the details about

Maybe there's more truth there than I assume most of us thought. Disgraceful though.

"One of the funnest, sick, and wildest bands of all time. They're bringing their crazy energy to the gathering"

That clip really reflected nothing of this at all.

All in all, el oh el.

"experiencing love like this is worth a thousand times the admission"

this whole thing is borderline fake

AHAHAHAHAHA! I actually think this is pretty fucking awesome just because of how badly everyone in this thread is freaking out. Dude, hardcore CKY fans and juggalos aren't exactly polar opposites. I'm from Chicago and honestly most juggalos I've met were also somewhat big CKY fans. This might actually be a big opportunity for them to get a lot of new fans.

For the record, fuck ICP. But this is just hilarious, I think it's great.

Watching that Tom Green video, this all makes more sense. Apparently they only schedule acts that haven't been relevant for 10 years. CKY fits.

a show is a show. as a band your job is to play for the public.....this the public! CKY are just doing what they do and that is playing music for people. what if cky went around saying "well we arent playing for them cause they arent good enough to listen to CKY." - they wouldnt have nearly as many fans.

anyone getting all mad cause you dont want "juggalos" on "the boards" is pathetic.

I don't disagree with that nor do I care that they are playing the gathering, but how much shit has CKY talked over the years about bands? and then winds up playing THEIR festival? It just makes them look kind of dumb and hypocritical. I do think that if CKY didn't tear down ICP as much as they have, and had then played the fest there would still be the minority of fans going "wtf ICP is white trash, CKY is above that etc." but in this case its just puzzling because they accepted the gig even after years of ragging on them (though some of it could have been seen as lighthearted, but I don't see that). I think that's what people here are more puzzled about the band playing the gig considering the things they said rather than the gig itself. It just paints them in a bit of a "will do anything as long as the pay is good" kind of light. Remember them calling Ozzy a sellout for his Doritos commercial? (yes there is a long way between Doritos and ICP but bare with me a bit) Again, I personally don't care all that much, but I think that is the motivation behind the boards being in a bit of a shock about this, considering a lot you (whether admitted or not) are serious music fans that hold bands to a certain standard, including CKY, and this kind of shatters that slightly. The freak out (IMO) is not completely unwarranted, I understand were Sharrock and some others are coming from. However, for my part, I'm probably just too old to care anymore.

However, I DO AGREE IT IS REALLY HARD NOT TO MOCK SOMETHING LIKE ICP. At the end of the day I hop this gives them exposure and calms down their attitude problem a bit, even though I know many former juggalo's who in their ICP Faygo drinking hayday had heard of, and loved CKY. Fuck all of you who wouldn't go, If I had the cash I'd go just to see the reaction.

Edit: Who knows, they could play it and end up being as sarcastic as Andrew WK, you never know.
