Hey Deron, are you guys all still involved with side projects or are all of you just now focusing solely on CKY?

Answer:
jess is doing a couple bands. my world under blood record is coming out next year, and chad is producing groups in his studio. we're doing 2 new CKY songs in january. one is written and its awesome. theyre going to be internet only. there's a lot of cool stuff in the works for 2010, and none of it is standard.

no DHYB was written for AACBF. the Deepest Depths is a song that probably would have sat well on volume 1...but the demos sounded so shitty that the only person that understood the song was me and maybe jess.

the basement demos never sounded really good or anything...but i'd have to say the instrumental demo for "to all of you" turned out unique. there are tons of demos floating around that no ones ever heard. shit like a song called "the deepest depths"...which i think would be cool to redo later on.

I agree. Don't Hold Your Breath sounds so cheesy and forced. And Chad's guitar solo just reeks of a bad 80's power ballad type deal. Could never get into it that much. And the fact that (IMO) it doesn't differentiate itself enough from Close Yet Far to be a solid closer that stands out in CKY's catalog.

Excited for the new material, though. But mostly The Afterworld.

I've been away for a while working on my own musical projects, but it good to see that shit is coming along. I can't wait to hear the new Cky song at the end of the new Jackass film. I expect it will somehow leak around the time the movie comes out (or someone will just get the movie first and rip the track).

Halfway House is an awesome track, I'm interested to see what Deron would add to it. If I'm not mistaken, didn't he just tune the guitar strings as tight as he could for that demo? So much gold from those basement sessions lol.

i could be wrong, but i think that was actually the final version on volume 1 that has bam and hanna doing background vocals over the chorus.

me during the versus, and me,jess and mark hanna during the choruses. we did that in john teague's bedroom. doesnt sound like it does it. well maybe it does.

it was done on an ADAT recorder, and we figured it lacked the quality of the analog studio result of the rest of the album. it actually sounds pretty good. we did the song in my friend john's parent's room. we used his mom's pantyhose as a spitguard for the mic. me, jess, and mark hanna are on backing vocals. you learn something new everyday.

Final version of Halfway house is the one that was done in the bedroom and has Hanna and Bam, ect... The heavy one I'll assume was recorded in Jess' basement.
