they're a boring team, there is no question about that. pure hitchcock hockey. defensive as hell and making average goalies look like gods (see; cechmanek, mason). they will be around for awhile though. they have so many great young players on that team. if the division stays the same next year, it will probably be the tightest in the league.

this is the first time in years that I don't really give a fuck if either team from the West wins it all... I dunno what team I'd want to win over the other though. Normally I'd agree with you, but I would have thought that the devils might've taken advantage of the rested/rusty affair and set the tone for the series. We're rested, we're hungry, and we're gonna shove this puck down your throats.

it's the third round. fighting is stupid at this point, unless it is necessary. you need all your players good to go and ready to contribute when they are called upon. everybody in the line-up is important at this point, even if they are getting five minutes. plus, you don't want to risk getting the instigator call or other roughing penalties. gotta play disciplined. gotta be aggressive but be smart.

meh. it was absolutely deserving of the major penalty but beyond that it's fine. trevor lewis set himself up for that one. he had the time to react and he continued to leave himself vulnerable. split second reaction error that ended up costing him. it looked ugly, wasn't a bright play on either player's behalf but is not, by rule, a suspendable hit. it's close though. doan's history is the only reason why this hit was an issue. hanzel, on the other hand, did deliver a dirty and suspendable hit. no questions.
