Nike Camp this Weekend Options

Posted this on myspace, but since no one actually reads those bulletins, I thought I might post it here too.

So yeah, I'm up to 7 offers, and I will be in Stanford this weekend for one of the biggest camps in the nation. My stock is flying through the roof right now, and I wouldn't be surprised if I got up to 10-12 schollie offers after this weekend. I've been having article after article posted about me, my highlight tape is up on rivals.com and is getting a ton of views, and I'm very excited to share this special time with my true family... the students and staff at HHS that has been there and supported me through the most difficult period of my life; and has done so in the most caring of fashions.

Here's a new article from Rivals everyone could post as a bulletin for a few times this weekend if you're up to it. It gives an idea of how this weekend is gonna go.

If there is one player that has a chance to really blow up at this weekends NorCal NIKE Camp, it's Brush Prairie (Wash.) Hockinson offensive lineman Nick Cody. Offers are already rolling in for the talented lineman but a strong showing Saturday could send his stock through the roof.

Cody is easily among the top linemen expected to participate at the NIKE Camp at Stanford this weekend. At 6-5, 275 pounds, the tackle prospect has gone from a regional prospect hearing from a few local schools to one of the elite line prospects in the region.

Cody is now up to seven scholarship offers comprised of Oregon St, Purdue, Oregon, Washington State, Stanford, Portland State and Idaho State. At strong showing at the NIKE Camp could put Cody in to double digits and that' exactly what were expecting to happen.

The lineman is a very talented player with size, feet and attitude. He plays through the whistle and is one of the most physical players in the region. He's athletic and tough, two things every lineman needs to succeed at the next level.

"I'm very excited about the NIKE Camp this weekend, I think my stock is going to take off when the colleges see me up close," Cody said. "This has been a dream come true for me so far but I've always known I could do this.

"I've always felt I had the ability to be one of the top linemen in the nation and everything is coming together for me right now. It's exciting, every time I get a new offer, it makes me that much more excited to see who the next one might come from.

"At this point, I'm enjoying the process and nowhere near making a decision. I'm going to have to take my visits and check out these schools a lot more before I'll be able to make a commitment to anyone. Oregon and Stanford lead right now, but I'm open to everyone who is recruiting me."

My offers are currently Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Purdue, Washington State, Portland State, and Idaho State. I'm hearing from Cal, Northwestern, Illinois and Washington, and getting some letters from a few of the elite programs (Michigan, OSU, USC for example).

Keep me in mind this weekend. On to the airport in 2 hours! I will post here on my laptop hopefully sometime tomorrow night.

Stanford is one of my top choices though. Oregon recently dropped a schollie offer to a kid in my state (who is out of shape and not so great) because they are only looking to take 2 offensive linemen in this class. I want to lock up my spot, and hopefully pull for them to offer 6'9 360lbs Matt Lipski, a friend with whom I will be at Stanford with, but my coaches are making me wait it out and take my visits. So who knows.

Well, I am pissed. Today was awesome, but god damn it, I didn't get MVP.

I mean, I was doing awesome in everything. Then for the last 30 minutes we did 1-on-1's, I only got 1 fucking rep since shitty ass kids kept running up out of their spot in the line, and had I gotten 2 or 3 more repetitions, I would have won the OL MVP. I mean, shit. The one guy I did go against, I embarassed. Put him on his back.

Fucking asshole who won the MVP had 14 reps and I believe every lineman there hated him because he was a dick.

And I'm not even making excuses. Here's what one writer even said:

While the quarterbacks and the running backs had plenty of headliners, the offensive line group pound for pound was one of the best in the camp.

Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic offensive center Dominic Galas was named the MVP for the position, but high profile prospects like Tyler Rigsbee, Allen Carroll, Nick Cody, Derek Tuimauga all had good days.

If Cody of Brush Prairie (Wash.) Hockinson had gotten a few more reps in the one-on-ones, he might have walked away with the position MVP.

At 6-foot-5 and 289 pounds, he was extremely athletic and he moved around like a tight end, instead of an offensive tackle. He's become one of Washington's hottest recruits the past few weeks and don't be surprised if he becomes one of the hottest in the West after his strong outing.
