PS3, cuz the other thread was deleted Options

This is for people that have both a PS3 and a 360. I currently have a 360 and have been thinking about getting a PS3, because theres at least 9 games for it that I want, but I really dont want to spend $400 just for a few games. Does anyone with both feel that some games that are available for both consoles are better on the PS3? So like theres more of a reason to get one.

ive found myself more comfortable with the PS controller than i am with the 360 controller. but in terms of any differences between like games on both platforms, i gotta say there is usually no difference at all. only with a very few amount of games is there a graphical difference, and still, its such a slight difference its not even really worth noticing. also, some games need to be installed to the PS3 hard drive, allowing for faster load times. and of course online gaming is free with the PS3.

but other than that, no difference at all really (games wise). you're better off just sticking with your 360 since you dont want to spend 400+ bucks to own a PS3.

I'm a fucking moron. I traded in my Wii at Gamestop for $130, $190 with games and accessories. A used Wii with five games just sold on eBay for $1100. I really should go buy a Wii and some games and accessories at Wal-Mart on a credit card and sell it on eBay given how desperate people are for these consoles. Oh, I sold my PSP for $80, too, but that's reasonable.

That being said, I have $270 now (including $190 in Gamestop credit), and I want a PS3 and/or an Ion Deluxe drum set that I will use my money towards

FFVII Advent Children
Rock Band 2 Drum Kit (working condition, drum pads are bubbled but can be fixed or covered with the silencers, and bass pedal in broken at it's base)
Rock Band Drum Kit (defective model, missing bass pedal)
Rock Band Wired Guitar (strum bar only registers light strumming)
Guitar Hero World Tour Wireless Guitar (Works perfectly)
Guitar Hero World Tour Wireless Drum Kit (Works perfectly, other than needs slight sensitivity adjustment on red pad)

All GH/RB equipment is for the 360. The FF stuff is in perfect shape. If anyone is interested in any of this stuff before I sell it on eBay, PM me.

Edit: Oh, yeah, I forgot - I'm leaning towards the $499 80 GB MGS4 PS3 bundle. It's not being manufactured, I know, but our local HEB-Plus still has like dozens of them in stock.

wtf dude? you said a wii just went for $1100 on ebay, so you should also know that FFVII can net $70 on there too. the guy at gamestop tipped me to that when i was trading in old PS games. thus, i sold mine for a good price.

Are there considerable differences in the hardware (CPU and stuff) between last year's 80 GB model and this year's 80/160 GB models? I figured last year's $499 80 GB was the best because it comes with MGS4, which is $60 alone, plus it has 2 more USB ports - that I'll never use :\ -, memory card ports, and backwards compatibility for most Playstation 2 games. If I don't get the $499 MGS4 bundle, I'll get the $399 80 GB one that's for sale everywhere; I don't need a 160 GB hard drive.

Also, I just put my FFVII and FVIII on eBay.

Edit: Getting Uncharted and an extra 80 GB for $100 isn't a terrible deal, though...
Edit 2: Okay, so the new SKU's do run quieter and with less power than the MGS4 SKU. And I don't need the extra USB ports or memory card slots... and I already have a Playstation 2... Hmm. I'm leaning more towards the new 80/160 GB SKUs now.

I rented it for the 360. I wasn't impressed. Boring. Unlike Mercenaries 2, which lets you blow stuff up, or Fallout 3, which has plenty of diversions as you travel from place to place, there's not much to keep you interested/entertained as you travel from place to place during missions. The actual shooter gameplay is boring, so the only thing it has working for it (and the sound/graphics, maybe), but you say the ending sucks so, yeah.

far cry 2 was fairly well done, the plot was somewhat interesting.

but then they twist it right at the end. its not about a civil war, or someone flooding the streets with weapons. the jackal wants to rid the world of the source of malaria simply because he has it, and you do too. apparantly you both commit suicide at the end, and it shows the refugees fleeing the country. who cares?

i was like, what the fuck. the ending BASICALLY hits you as bluntly as the sopranos ended. there was no huge showdown with a villian, no end-game boss, no nemesis.

the game was building pretty well to some huge confrontation, but it never happened. you guys basically buddy up and thats it.

at least i can go back and finish fallout 3 now after taking a break.
