FYI - According to my text book, 27% of couples using Coitus interruptus (aka the "pull-out method") as their form of contraception become pregnant within one year.

I don't know about you people...but 27% is far to much of a chance for me to take.

The pill is like 99.8% effective and the .2% that become pregnant probably didn't take the pill as prescribed.

thats only if your active for like every day, or several times a week. if you do it once in a while, youd be fine, right?

This could mean 25 times out of 100; it could mean 2.5 times for every one thousand; it could mean .25 times for every 10,000 time.

see. now im no expert, melissa. but this is how i look at it. sports analogy. you take a shot at basketball. you miss. say your shooting 3's. you are a career 45% 3 point shooter. but you take 200 shots, and only make 62. thats 31%. the more you take, the more the average levels out. i think it means that if this is your protection EVERY time. but i could be wrong.

haha whatever.

On another side note, I will be doing an OB rotation (aka spending half a day on the labor and delivery floor of a hospital) on Monday and I will likely see a live birth therefore sealing the fact that I never want kids and if I do, I'm opting for an elective c-section.
