The fact that that kid thought tango was lame but that the band after them was even passable shows just what shitty taste he/she has.

i thought they had boring, generic sounding guitar riffs and uninteresting songs(though the last one they played was pretty good). the next band had a skilled guitarist and good singer, though their music wasn't exactly what i'm into.

Asbury was a good show...and it took this show of them all and a night of sobriety for me to finally lose my voice. Word.
Also, Tango Machina was good. Also also, yes we made it home safe...thanks guys! |

At least you explained what you likedw and didn't like...opinions are valid. My opinion is tango is very catchy and multifacited...whereas that other band was so cookie cutter amatuer hour it was crazy. The fact that the Singer said at the beginning of the set something about cKy inviting them was a load of horseshit. CKy had no idea who they were and thought they were awful.
I would like tango even if I didn't know them because they're interesting sonically and lyrically. And I take writing seriously so if I say something is lyrically interesting its a big complement. Regardless, cKy was off the chain and I hope that continues. For a central Jersey show the crowd was good except for the usual wannabe ninjas. The pony's sound was good...much better than it used to be, and everyone working there (besides management idiots) was much cooler then I've seen before. I think the clubs management takes advantage of new bands and younger kids bands with a lame ass pay to play like system instead of actually rewarding talent. I mean I understand a club is a business but its a shame when daddy can buy you a stage while other arguably better bands have to scrape just to sell a stupid minimum...especially at all ages shows because of the lack of drink $. |
